Wireless Alert Alarm System

Wireless Alert Alarm System (WAAS) is a collaboration effort with HDB. It includes a Personal Alert Button (PAB) installed in seniors’ homes, supported by backend administration systems, creating a comprehensive ecosystem of geriatric care. When a senior in distress activates the PAB, a signal is transmitted to either an Active Ageing Centre or CareLine, a 24-hour telecare service provided by Changi General Hospital.

Upon receiving a distress alert from the PAB, staff will assess the situation and take appropriate action. They may communicate with the distressed senior using the PAB’s 4G technology for two-way communication or use a 10-second audio recording to assess the situation within the household.e the situation within the household.

Sensei Care Kit

Sensei Care Kit (SCK) is designed to empower seniors to monitor their health independently. It comprises a tablet with integrated health monitoring devices, including a precise blood pressure monitor and a weighing scale. Seniors gain instant insights into their health readings via the tablet, which also acts as a channel for communication with their respective dedicated care teams.

Beyond a mere tablet, the SCK is a comprehensive hub for health information and communication. It alleviates the loneliness faced by the elderly as they can connect with their caregivers through video calls and explore community resources.

Vital Signs Monitoring Using Remote Photoplethysmography

Remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a contactless technology that uses the video feed of individuals’ faces to measure vital signs.

The camera detects subtle facial colour changes that are determined by the volume of blood under the skin, which can be used to predict corresponding changes in heart and respiratory rates.

As changes in vital signs are often an early indicator of underlying health problems, rPPG could help with the timely identification and treatment of such problems.

ePad & eCanvas

ePad: Empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Photography & Videography.

ePAD, an assistive technology system by GovTech, empowers PWDs who have limited upper limb mobility to pursue their interests in creative fields such as photography and videography.

It addresses difficulties related to holding tablets and using touchscreens, enabling independent photo and video capture through accessible mounting, pan/tilt functionality, and diverse interface methods tailored to different users. This fosters inclusivity and diversity in the workforce, while opening new opportunities for professional development and income generation.

eCanvas: Supporting Artistic Expression for PWDs

eCanvas, an innovative creation by GovTech, is a voice-controlled assistive technology that promotes greater independence for PWDs, who have artistic aspiration or enjoy art as a recreational, or social activity.

The motorised system, operable through intuitive voice commands or assistive buttons, eliminates the need for physical manipulation of brushes or canvases, catering to a diverse range of users with limited upper limb mobility.

eCanvas empowers PWDs to paint independently, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in the arts. The customisable system fosters self-expression and provides a valuable tool for therapy, allowing PWDs to explore their artistic potential and share their unique perspectives through art.

Open Digital Platform

The Open Digital Platform (ODP)is jointly developed by JTC and GovTech. It serves as the digital backbone for Punggol Digital District (PDD), which is Singapore’s first smart and sustainable district.

The ODP integrates sensors and systems to collect real-time data on building functions and environmental conditions. This data is further analysed and optimised through machine learning and AI, resulting in enhanced energy and resource efficiency. Discover more revolutionary achievements that the ODP is striving towards by 2024.

Smart Facility Management

Our Smart Facility Management (SmartFM) systems harness IoT and Cloud technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability in facility management. This encompasses optimising sustainable energy and water consumption, monitoring facilities using a variety of IoT sensors, deriving insights through data analytics, and improving operational efficiency.

Digital Twin

Digital Twin (DT) is a digital representation of a physical object or system. By integrating sensor and geospatial data with real-time and historical information, DT facilitates informed decision-making for the strategic and sustainable smart city planning. Examples of SCTD DT projects:

  • EDEN, a partnership by GovTech and LTA. It offers a Digital Platform for National EV (Electric Vehicle) Charging infrastructure. EDEN provides a DT platform for planners on plan, analyse and optimise the EV charging infrastructure.
  • Events planning and simulation tools to assist agencies in simulation and planning of equipment and crowd control for indoor and outdoor scenarios.

Simulation-as-a-Service

Simulation-as-a-service (SIMaaS) seeks to facilitate Modelling and Simulation (M&S) for smart city planning and promote smooth collaboration and sharing of models, simulation results, and data.

City planners face a complex environment marked by interdependent forces that shape planning constraints and challenges, such as limited land, urban heat, and shifting population demographics, alongside rapidly changing circumstances with shorter windows of opportunity to respond.

M&S is a crucial capability that can enhance planning processes by exploring a broader range of solutions to inform policy decisions and implementations.

Radar-enabled Elderly Home Monitoring Dashboard for Caregivers

The Radar-enabled Elderly Home Monitoring Dashboard integrates real-time sensor data and predictive algorithms to empower caregivers to proactively attend to elders exhibiting signs of ill-health or unusual behaviour. Utilising real-time insights and privacy-respecting radar sensors, it allows caregivers to effectively monitor the well-being of seniors in multiple households. Caregivers can conveniently monitor daily routines, activity, and mobility levels, as well as live household occupancy, facilitating early intervention for health concerns.

Robotics

The robotics team enhances government operational efficiency through projects by utilising frameworks like the Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF). We focus on automating tasks such as food delivery in JTC and book sorting in Tampines Regional Library. Additionally, our capabilities encompass mapping indoor and outdoor environments, autonomous navigation and driving, as well as exploratory projects like an arm exoskeleton for assisted living.
