FAQs

Is a Singpass account required for recipients to retrieve their documents on FileSG?

Recipients can access their documents on FileSG with or without a Singpass account.

What is the OA file format used by FileSG?

FileSG collaborates with government agencies to issue documents in the OA file format for verification. OA is an open-source framework designed to endorse and verify documents. This format ensures that documents are cryptographically secure and can be independently verified without the need to access a central database.

Will unauthorised individuals be able to access recipients' digital documents?

Access to recipients’ documents on FileSG requires Singpass authentication or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). To ensure security, individuals should only share their documents with trusted entities, such as government agencies, for verification purposes.

How are documents accurately delivered to the intended recipients?

FileSG requires government agencies to provide the document recipient’s Unique Identification Number, such as NRIC, FIN, or Passport Number, for each document issuance. This ensures that documents are accurately delivered to the intended recipients.

Does FileSG support integration with agency systems on the Intranet or Internet?

Yes, FileSG supports integration with agency systems in both the Intranet and Internet zones via API.

Is there a FileSG portal available for agency officers to issue documents to the public?

No, FileSG does not currently provide a front-end portal for agency officers to issue documents. However, agency officers can issue documents manually through a custom FormSG form.

What is the current maximum file size supported for issuance?

  • SFTP: Up to 400 MB per file
  • Manual Issuance: Up to 20 MB per file
What file formats are currently supported for issuance?
